Ipamorelin
What is common, what is less so, and what to do if something is out of the ordinary.
What most people notice
Mostly stronger hunger in the hour after the injection. This is expected and brief: Ipamorelin acts on the same signal as the hunger hormone.
A hot flush, a mild headache or slight tenderness at the injection site can also occur.
What can also happen
- Mild water retention.
- Tingling or slight numbness in the hands.
- Temporary dizziness.
- A change in blood sugar.
To reduce these effects
- Stick to the time set by your protocol: at bedtime, the hunger and hot flushes often go unnoticed.
- A glass of water helps the hunger pass.
- Change the injection site every time.
- Do not raise the dose on your own.
When to talk to a professional
With this product, especially if you notice:
- Tingling that lasts, or new joint pain.
- Numbness in the hands that does not ease over time.
- Intense thirst or unusually heavy urination.
- Rapid, unexplained weight gain.
If a symptom is severe, lingers or worries you, stop the product and talk to a healthcare professional. An immediate reaction after the injection, such as trouble breathing or swelling of the face, needs medical care right away.
Specific to this product
- This product raises IGF-1, a hormone measured by blood test: before a blood test, mention it, as it can influence the result for several days.
- It is not recommended with an active or recent cancer, uncontrolled diabetes, a known disorder of the pituitary (a gland at the base of the brain), and during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- It should not be combined with growth hormone: the effects would add up.
Anti-doping: Prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (growth hormone secretagogues, S2).
