GHK-Cu
What is common, what is less so, and what to do if something is out of the ordinary.
What most people notice
Slight redness or tenderness at the injection site in the hours that follow.
What can also happen
- Brief itching or a small bruise.
- Mild fatigue the first few times.
- A drop in blood pressure or brief dizziness, occasionally reported.
To reduce these effects
- Change the injection site every time.
- Inject into a relaxed area, never onto irritated skin.
- Press the button slowly: a slow injection stings less. The pen itself stays cold until the injection.
- Do not raise the dose on your own.
When to talk to a professional
With this product, especially if you notice:
- Redness that spreads, marked warmth, or pain that increases at the injection site.
- A skin reaction that lasts more than a few days.
- Dizziness that keeps happening.
If a symptom is severe, lingers or worries you, stop the product and talk to a healthcare professional. An immediate reaction after the injection, such as trouble breathing or swelling of the face, needs medical care right away.
Specific to this product
- The bluish tint of the solution is normal: it is the copper this peptide carries.
- It is not recommended with Wilson's disease or another copper metabolism disorder, active cancer, pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- If a blood test is going to measure your copper, mention that you use this product.
Where the research stands
Level of evidence: Laboratory research
GHK-Cu is documented in humans mostly when applied to the skin. Data specific to injection are more limited.
