Travelling with your pens
A trip should never interrupt a protocol, or degrade a product. Car, plane, hotel and borders: here's how your pens travel well.
1. The basic rule: your product's protocol comes first
Each peptide has its own storage requirements: temperature, tolerance outside the cold, how long it keeps after first use. Before any trip, reread your product's protocol, received with your order (Storage section). This page covers transport; the protocol covers your specific product.
2. By car
The enemy is heat: a car interior in full sun goes over 50 °C in summer. Carry your pens in a small soft cooler with an ice pack, in the air-conditioned cabin, never in the trunk, never in a car parked in the sun.
Avoid direct contact between the pen and the ice pack: a mixed pen that freezes can be just as degraded as an overheated one.
3. On a plane: carry-on, never checked luggage
The hold can freeze: your pens travel in the cabin, in an insulated pouch with an ice pack. At security, keep them in their original packaging, show them to the officer and allow a few extra minutes.
4. At destination
First thing on arrival: the fridge, the one in your room, or ask the front desk for one; hotels do this routinely. No minibar that freezes, no windowsill. For a few hours between two stops at a refrigerator, the insulated pouch in the shade is enough.
5. Borders: check before you travel
Import rules vary greatly from one country to another: what you carry without difficulty here may be refused elsewhere. Before an international trip, check the rules of your destination country (customs and health).
Always carry your pens in their original packaging, with the label and batch number visible. We cannot assure you that our products will be admitted outside Canada, and anyone who assures you of that should make you wary.
What if it was left in the heat?
- Not yet mixed
- Put it back in the cold as soon as possible, in its box. Not yet mixed, it is a powder: that is how it travels to you.
- Already mixed
- A mixed pen left out of the cold for hours, let alone in a car in the sun, has been through what degrades a peptide: we do not recommend using it, even if it looks clear. Write to us with the product and the date you mixed it before injecting.
- Cloudy, discoloured or frozen
- If the liquid turns cloudy or changes colour, do not use it. A mixed pen that has frozen is thrown away, even if it has thawed since.
The starting list
- Your pens in their original packaging
- An insulated pouch and an ice pack
- Enough needle tips and alcohol swabs, with some to spare
- A rigid container for used needles
- A photo of your protocol and of the certificate of analysis on your phone
- Your product's protocol, reread the day before
